Judging for the awards will be carried out by a select panel of industry experts.

Russ Piper, Chief Executive at Sovereign Health Care

Russ entered the financial services industry in 1986. He was introduced to the cash plan market in 2002, where he later joined Sovereign Health Care in 2006.

Russ has a real passion for the work Sovereign Health Care does, in particular the local good causes Sovereign is able to support through its Community Programme, which sees the company donate around £500,000 each year to health and wellbeing initiatives.

Hannah Davies, Healthwatch Leeds

Hannah is the Chief Executive of Healthwatch Leeds and lives in Leeds with her three sons. There is an independent Healthwatch in every local area bringing people’s voices into health and care decision making. Prior to Healthwatch, Hannah was Director of the health and care charity network for Leeds, Forum Central, which again had a strong focus on putting people and communities, especially those with the greatest health inequalities at the forefront of health and care developments. Hannah has also worked in the private, public and third sector across the country.

Hannah Barham-Brown

Hannah Barham-Brown is a GP trainee in Leeds, and a national disability and gender equity campaigner. An Ambassador for two charities and a mobility company, Hannah has given 2 TEDx Talks. She has been on the Shaw Trust ‘Powerlist’ of the 100 most Influential Disabled people in the UK for the last 2 years.

Councillor Helen Hayden

Councillor Helen Hayden is a Leeds City Councillor representing Temple Newsam and is currently the Chair of the Adults, Health and Active Lifestyles Scrutiny Board – a position which she has held since May 2017. Focusing on services for adults and public health services, the Board monitors progress towards improving health, lifestyles and the quality of care across the city. In addition, the Board provides oversight of integration and partnership working in relation to the Council and health bodies and oversees activity relating to promoting and maintaining active lifestyle across Leeds.
In this role, Councillor Hayden also Chairs the West Yorkshire Joint Health Overview and Scrutiny Board which maintains an overview of the West Yorkshire and Harrogate Health and Care Plan and the various boards that from part of the overall governance arrangements for the West Yorkshire and Harrogate Health and Care Partnership.
